Has anyone ever had their foreign exchange student come live with them the year after their program ended?
My foregn exchange student from Brazil and his family would like for him to get a new visa and come back on his own to live with us to finish high school and start college. I don't know how to go about doing this or even where to start. I live in Texas and I don't know how I would get him signed up for school and make it so he can get a job and all that stuff. Please let me know if you have dealt with this before. Thanks! Thanks for the feedback. I know he wll need a visa, but I am more interested in how about going to get him signed back up for scool and all that stuff.

Students are able to come back and finish school the second year. However, they need to check the current program requirements. I thought that FLEX students were not allowed to return for 2 years. If they can return, they would have to get an F-1 visa and the school they would attend would have to be an approved school. The immigration services has a list of approved schools. The school can apply but there is a cost and paperwork involved. You would have to talk to the school about that.
