How long after your student visa expires can you apply for a working visa?
I have a friend who was here from Brazil on a student visa, they had to return home after a family emergency and that visa had expired, my question is how long does it usually take before a working visa can be issued so they can return to the states? Or since that person was here after their visa had already expired can they even return at all?

Your friend needs to find a company to sponsor him for a working visa and that's likely to be tough in this job climate.
2 :
there is no such thing as a working visa, an employer would have to prove no one in the us can do his job pay 10k and sponsor him, never gonna happen
3 :
They can return with a correct visa ..employment visa are applied for by the employer ... get her employer to file

your friend was out of status in the US when he stayed after the visa had expired. I´m assuming that he maintained his student status and didnt drop out of school. If he overstayed for 180 days but less than a year he faces a 3 year ban from returning to the US. Over 1 year = 10 year ban. If he wants a working visa he needs to have a US employer sponsor him, he cannot apply for that himself. The previous overstay, if it was less than 180 days, could prove to be a HUGE negative on whether or not another visa will be issued.

Is R$10/hr OK pay for college student in Brazil?
Is R$10/hr OK pay for college student in Brazil?
We're going to Brazil and needed to hire a local to be our freelance assistant, just to help us out with some secretarial work for the week... really easy stuff. I was wondering if 10 reais per hour would be acceptable for this type work in Brazil? I came up with 10 because I could pay someone $7-8 to do this here in the US.

Yes. But in Brazil everyone gets paid monthly, and the minimum wage is R$520/month. So yes, 10 reais is a decent amount.

R$10 is a good money. I receive R$3,80/h to work hardely "/

What's an activity outside of the classroom to do with my ESL students (Brazil)?
Hi, I'm working as an English Teacher in Sao Paulo, Brazil and I want to take my students to do an activity outside of the classroom where they can practice English in real life. My students range from 12 to 23 so need an activity that is fun for many ages. Any suggestions?

Regardless of location, you can take ESL students to a public area and discuss how you got there, directions on how to get to another location from there, and of course discuss what to do while at the location. Ideas of places to visit are parks, train stations, airports, museums, zoos, even libraries and federal buildings are possibilities. Good luck.

What is the best way to send a big package to Brazil from Canada?
Im an exchange student from Brazil, so i would like to send a big package (maybe 2) containing clothes, shoes and stuff like this. I need to send it because i already arrived in Canada with 2 overweight suitcases, and i bought a lot of stuff here too. And after here im heading to California, so i cant keep carrying all this stuff. I want the cheapest way, because it can take as much time as needed.
