Could a teacher get fired for calling a student a stupid b!tch?

Could a teacher get fired for calling a student a stupid b!tch?
I go to a Catholic high school in Central Florida. Today in detention the teacher supervising us called a student a stupid b!tch. The student's name was pronounced wrong when the teacher was calling roll and he made a comment something like "the name's blah blah blah, dude" and the teacher got mad and said "Don't call me a dude, what's your problem, etc. etc, stupid b!tch". I learned after the detention that the teacher got mad because he was Brazilian and apparently dude is an offensive term in Brazil. I don't think that excuse would fly though because we're in America, not Brazil. Any insight would be appreciated.

yes

that's funny Ann frank goes to a Catholic school
3 :
that teacher could be fired, go to your parents and the head of the school
4 :
That teacher should be fired, but if you are in a private school it may or may not happen- depending on how desperately teachers are needed.
5 :
Maybe. However in Brazil, being called a stupid b!tch is actually a compliment there. It gets lost in the translation. Call him a stupid b!tch to let him know that you're in the know!
6 :
He probably will end up fired. Teachers have been fired for much less. Never mind calling a student a curseword. He's suppose to keep his cool even when the students are acting like common sense was never invented. After all he's the adult.
7 :
isn't your avatar of Anne Frank? (no, a teacher can't do that anywhere...even if it IS true).
8 :
a teacher could get fired yes.. especially because its a catholic school.. will that teacher get fired it all depends on whether or not the school really needs that teacher.. thats hilarious
9 :
If he were in Brazil I would understand but as you said he is not. This should definelty not be accepted. If you went to his country and said something offensive without knowing, I'm sure they wouldn't tolerate it. As an educator in the United States of America he should know what's right from wrong in this country.

How do you call the last round of beers in a pub or a bar?

How do you call the last round of beers in a pub or a bar?
I'm a teacher of english in Brazil and students asked me how to say "saideira" in english. Saideira is the popular name of the last round of beers just before you and your friends leave the bar. (it's not the the last round of the bar, just for you and your friends)

last call?
2 :
last round please "That will be our last call" if its close to closing time the bartender usually says "Last Call"
3 :
Make this the last round guys/dudes. Kill the night with this one. Last drink guys.
4 :
I'm not sure I've ever heard of a single word or phrase that would designate the last round for a person or group. I've always used "One more and cash me out" prior to receiving my last drink. Mostly, my friends and I have to be given last call because we refuse to stop drinking.
5 :
Pretty sure it's < last call >
6 :
I don't think we have a specific term for the last round among a group drinking together. Night cap is probably the closest youre gonna get, and thats a stretch.

Is it hard to be accepted into an exchange student program?

Is it hard to be accepted into an exchange student program?
Two years ago, my family hosted an exchange student from Brazil. Since then I've wanted to be involved in an exchange program. I'm only a Freshman in high school, but I'd like to go my junior year. I am currently involved in my school's band, chorus, a cappella, drama club, school musical, and tennis, so I think I have extra-cirricular activities down. I take Spanish two, so I'd like to know what are some good Spanish speaking countries to travel to. Also, what exchange program should I use? I've heard a lot about Rotary. Is it hard to be accepted? How early should I apply? It is harder to get into a six-month program or a full year program? Should I consider going to a country that doesn't speak Spanish? Thanks for the help. P.S. I'm from the United States, if that helps.

I think it all depends on what type of program you are applying for. Some are more academically-oriented than others, so some have stricter GPA requirements and the like. Spanish-speaking countries are good, however, because there are many programs available in that area. This means there are plenty of programs that you can apply to, and you are likely to be accepted by at least one. ;) I studied abroad in my junior year of college, and I would recommend that you apply absolutely as early as possible. Give yourself plenty of time. Even if you keep in touch with your study abroad advisor and all your liaisons (and you should), there are usually long delays between when you apply and when you hear back. Also, there are always unexpected delays and things that it is impossible to plan for. You cannot apply too early. As I said, I think a Spanish-speaking country is a good choice. Many people I know have had very good luck with Latin American programs. They seem to be very immersed in the culture, and they reported having good experiences. However, I went to Japan for my study abroad. It all depends on what you are interested in. On the other hand, your experience will be more meaningful if are familiar with the local language. Good luck~ hope that helps~

Spain is a wonderful choice and the program www.beautifulspain.com, one of the best if not the best of the programs offered abroad world wide. Location is a safe and most amazingly beautiful beach resort in Northern Spain. You can also check YFU although their programs are a bit pricey. Host families are extremely well screened and very loving. This program gets returnees year after year, so great it is. Cost is really reasonable considering everything included (as long as you sign up with this program through their web site as there are organizations that sell the same program for much more so high quality it is). Some of the activities and excursions it offers besides Spanish, cooking and dancing classes are: Guggenheim Museum, paella dinner, bullfight, fireworks on the beach, city tour, medieval towns, fishing villages, many beach days, Aquarium, tall ship vessel excursion, Roman village hiking trip, shopping, and much more. It offers you the possibility of enrolling with a friend with whom to share same host family home, or for you to stay alone at host family. Many host families count on children of similar age to participating students.
