An American going to college in Brazil?
I am currently living in Brazil as in exchange student for my junior year of high school, and when I return (July of 2010) I have to finish up high school. When I finish, I want to go to college in Brazil. I don't want to be with a different college and study abroad here, I want to live here and go to college. To do this here they need to take Enem, it's like the ACT/SAT there, but harder and in Portuguese. I am already quite good at Portuguese and will be almost fluent by the time I leave. How could I work this out? Will I have to take Enem too, or do they have a program for foreigners? I was thinking a college in the South. Sao Paulo, Santa Catarina, Parana, or maybe Minas Gerias. hello, girl! I'm Brazilian... In Brazil, the student begin to study in February and finish in December. They'll have holidays in July and January. Have you ready suscribed the Enem? Enem will begin the next week! If you ask about a program for froeigners, search for www.enem.inep.gov.br and enter in contact with them and get their informations. See you! Boa sorte!

No, you can work and pay a private one. Enem to private colleges is just to reduce the money you pay every month or if you would like to go to a public one. You should try, it will be good to you even if you go to a private college that will reduce and you will save money. :-) I am Brazilian and college student if you have more questions plz e-mail me that I will be happy to help you if I can :-) Take care and good luck. Si eu fosse vc... eu iria entrar em contato com a universidade que vc quer atender. Ver os requisitos de entrar como estrangeiro, e quando for falar com eles comecar em Portuguese pra mostrar que vc esta seria, se eles comecam falar em Ingles contigo tudo bem voltar pra ingles. Eu duvido que eles deixam vc entrar sem passar no vestibular. Mas quem sabe, bora ver. Contact the school you want to attend and see what they say. Speak with them in portuguese so they know your serious.
