Universities in Melbourne for an average student?
I live in Brazil but I'm moving in march to melbourne, so i basically wanted to have an idea about the universities in melbourne..I'm not an excellent student, I would say about average. My overall GPA in high school was 2.7 I think, so yea, just wanted to know about some universities for an average grade student. really appreciate it

um i dont think we go by GPA so that 2.7 doesnt give us an idea of how well or not your going.... definitely Vic Uni is known for acceptance of average grades so check up there...and La trobe possibly...really depends on the pre requisites of the course and whether you hold all of what is required so what would you like to study? grab yourself a VTAC guide which tells you whats required for each course etc....and see whats there for you good luck

I did year 12 last year so I'm going to uni this year but don't know how different countries compare with their scoring systems. To get into uni straight after highschool you need to get an Atar score, the uni's in melbourne tend to have a higher score needed to get in as they more popular being in the city. For example at Deakin Uni, the course i wanted to do was an 80 something in Melbourne, 60 somthing in Geelong (just over an hour away) and then 50 something at the Warnabool campus which is even further away.I'm lucky that I live in Geelong as I got enough to get in there but not in Melbourne but the courses are still exactly the same. It's going to depend on which uni and which course you choose but you may need to travel a little bit. Although depending on how old you are you can apply as a mature age student then you don't need the atar score but there is other requirements. Like the other person said if you can get a VTAC guide then that will be a great help, it has been like a bible to me for the last few months, also call up some different uni's to get some more help
