What certifications should I have to work in a private equity investment fund?
What certifications should I have to work in a private equity investment fund?
What certifications should I have to work in a private equity investment fund? I'm a student of civil engineering at Brazil and I like the sand of finance, and would like to start my career in this world of business ... Is there a requirement for me to get these funds? Is there any way in the United States or certification I should do? Is there a university extension course, what a good school for me to learn? Thank you all.

At the very least you should have an MBA or finance degree. Then you should obtain a FINRA Series 6 or 7 registration. Once you begin working at a private equity fund, you should obtain one or more certifications, such as a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), Chartered Financial Professional (CFO), or Financial Compliance Professional (FCP). Check the www.finra.org website and the www.nasaa.org website for additional requirements.

i think Ghana is the the best place to be cos students who come to Ghana for their ecxhange programmes have an experience of a life time.

Russia!! :) Sorry to sound so damn enthusiastic, but it's so fashionable and classy aha. And Foreign. LOLL. That would be my first pick out of the list. I think France would look the best on your application, simply because French is the second most important language in the World. Especially Government jobs, such as United Nations etc. It's important to know :) My third pick is Spain :) The Shoe & Bag Shopping :) Aha, sorry if my answer is pretty girl-y :) But yesh, that's what comes to my mind with those countries. Fingers crossed you get to do the AFS Foreign Exchange Student Program!! -- Sisii

It will look great for college, although I do think you should wait a year. You list some interesting choices -- the organization will have you pick your top three. It kind of depends on what you are looking for out of the exchange. If you are going because you have a particular culture that interests you ... go in that direction. If you are looking at your ancestors, again, you have some guidance. If you are looking for a language that will help you in the future, consider Russia, Brazil or Egypt. All of those will have the need for competent linguists.

It will definatly look good on colledge! I would say france but you can go on there website and talk with some one who will help you woth your top three and you can request a free catalog with info (:

It will DEFINITELY look good in college!!! For a totally different lifetime experience.. i would suggest portugal, egypt, brazil and ghana because these countries are very different compared to US[ i'm assuming you're from US]. You would experience a totally different culture compared to what you might experience in some other European countries. I'm not saying that European countries and US are the same in culture or something but they are closer compared to the once i've listed above. i think it would be a great adventure to have a culture shock! a great story to tell my kids one day.. but then again, doing a study abroad at an early age is definitely worth bragging about!! Good luck!

You're not going to get a straight answer from anyone that doesn't have a little biased spin on it. I went to Japan, and it was great, but thinking back on it, I wish I went to someplace where people were less fanatical about it. If I could do it again, I'd have done Czech Republic or an Arab speaking country. Just so you know, AFS offers a scholarship if you let them choose for you. Not a bad way to defray costs.

Regardless of which country you choose check for accreditation, because Danish students can not get a year in an U.S High school accredited because the curriculum is so much more demanding in Denmark than in the US. There is no need to waste an entire year as I have seen several of my friends do. It is too late to be sorry about returning and being placed a whole year behind your peers when you have left for the destination. Research accreditation before you leave.

Visa to enter Brazil Question?
Visa to enter Brazil Question?
I'm a US Citizen. I've been to Brazil before just that this is the first time I have to issue the visa myself. I had a Visa on 2005 that say it is valid for 5 years, but I got a new passport. Applying for a new visa will bring problems because I still have a valid one? Can that visa be transfered to my new passport? Other thing. I;m going to take a short course in a Brazilian university...still I should apply for the tourist visa and not the student visa right?

Hello There My friend was in your same position recently and she was told by the Brazilian consulate and the Airlines a passenger may enter Brazil with a valid visa in an expired passport provided: - the page which contains the valid visa in the expired passport has not been invalidated or mutilated in a manner as to make the visa illegible. - the passenger holds also a valid passport of the same nationality. - a handwritten annotation does not appear in the passport that passenger has been advised to obtain a new visa in valid passport. IN ALL CASES, TRANSFER OF A VALID VISA TO A VALID PASSPORT IS HIGHLY RECOMMENDED. As far as getting a Student Visa or not..it truly depends what you will be doing..If you-re just going for a confence for a few days or a Language course that's under 90 days..then you-re tourist visa should be fine..But if you will be participating in any other form of educational activity a student visa will be required.I would suggest you apply ASAP for your Visa as a Student Visa sometimes takes a few weeks to process. Best of Luck!
